It does not matter what type of breast implants we are talking about: saline (salt water) or silicone-filled. They all raise risk of chronic autoimmune conditions. All implants have a silicone pocket which degrades over time in the body. This degradation causes the immune system to overreact, trying to expel from silicone and other chemicals, that have nothing to do in the human body.
Microscopic silicone bits from the shell of the implant end up in lymph nodes (especially around the implant) and on the myelin sheath of the nerves. These tiny pieces of silicone can then travel long distances and end up very far from the original site. Because of this migration, many women suffer symptoms far away from their implants: pain in the legs, digestive problems, cognitive dysfunction, etc. These symptoms are never linked to the implants, as many health care professionals think that implants cause only localised problems, such as hardening of the breast tissue, and localised pain.Microbial and fungal infestation is also very common, especially with saline implants. This might the the reason why women do not recover from a cold or flu in a timely manner, ever when treated with antibiotics. In my experience, these women take several courses of antibiotics per year, without any substantial result. They constantly complain of flu-like symptoms, and they end up at the ENT who usually recommends then to take antihistamines, steroids, mucus flushing medication to get rid of the endless nose drippings. When these don't work, they are advised to go for sinus surgery, which usually does not resolve the problem as long as the implants stay in place.

This article, Boob jobs busted points out the huge problems these women are facing:
"Autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, progressive systemic sclerosis and vasculitis."
"Implants often kill sexual sensitivity. In the above study of 100 women, 75 per cent reported they’d lost some sensitivity in their nipples following breast augmentation and, in more than a third of those women, the loss of sensitivity was nearly complete."
"Bacteria and mould can grow within saline implants. As the silicone envelope is semi-permeable, studies have shown that saline-filled implants, particularly those with a valve through which the saline was injected, can harbour the growth of dangerous bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and fungi likeAspergillus flavus [...]."
"Implants may prevent you from breastfeeding, [...]."
"Implants can cause cancer. France’s National Cancer Institute issued a cancer warning on implants after finding a link with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), a rare type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) that usually affects the lymph nodes, soft tissues and liver. This was confirmed by a multicentre European study, which found 71 cases of this rare cancer linked to breast implants."
